The patch

The patch that I have been watching over these past 2 weeks is called a Horsetail which is a pernnial. It hasnt changed very much since I have first started observing it

Leaves changing color

Tuesday October 27

Today it was a little cold with a slight breeze. It was cloudy and the temperature was 55 degrees. There are a lot more leaves on the ground. Still not much light shining onto the spot. There was a cricket chirping in the background, the first sign of life I have seen at the spot. The leaves started changing colors today. They turned to a yellow color.

Leaves

Some leaves from the spot

The patch did not change very much from the last time that I visited it.

Monday October 19 5:15-5:30

I returned to the spot today at a nice temperature of 60 degrees. It was clear not very many clouds in the sky but still not much light into my spot. The light couldn't get through because of the amount of leaves still on the branches. Again no visible creatures in sight. I did spot a few deer tracks on my way to my spot. The leaves remained green again but a few more turned color since the last time I have been to the spot.
This patch of growing things on the ground intrigued me. I wonder how it will look the next time I return to the spot.
